About Parallax Psychology

There is never only one perspective.

Parallax Psychology was created around a simple belief: meaningful therapy begins by understanding the whole person—not reducing someone to symptoms, labels, or a single explanation.

Our ethos

Understanding before assumption

Every experience is shaped by an interaction between the body, emotions, thoughts, relationships, culture, identity, environment, and life history. We make room for that complexity and explore it with curiosity.

Our role is not to decide who you should become. It is to help you understand your experiences more deeply, recognise patterns, and develop changes that feel useful and sustainable in your life.

Therapy at Parallax Psychology is collaborative, evidence-informed, and adaptable. Your insight, preferences, communication style, and pace remain central throughout.

What guides the service

Whole-person care

We look beyond isolated symptoms and consider the biological, psychological, relational, cultural, and social context surrounding them.

Collaboration

Therapy is something we develop together. Formulations remain open to revision as new understanding and perspectives emerge.

Individuality

No single model suits everyone. Psychological ideas and practical strategies are selected according to your needs rather than imposed as a fixed programme.

Affirmation

Neurodivergence, gender, sexuality, and culture are approached with respect. Difference is not automatically treated as deficit or pathology.

Safety and transparency

Expectations, confidentiality, boundaries, fees, and the limits of the service are discussed clearly before therapy begins.

Meaningful movement

Progress does not need to be linear. Small shifts in perspective can create space for practical and lasting change.

Inclusive by design

A space where you do not have to leave parts of yourself outside.

Parallax Psychology aims to offer neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. Therapy is adapted to how you communicate, process information, and experience the world—not the other way around.

Affirming practice does not ignore distress, disability, or support needs. It seeks to understand them without assuming that difference itself is defective.
